Anchored by expansion within its current client base and multiple new client acquisitions, the 4th quarter of 2017 proved to be Rhodes largest production period to date. “Through the industry expertise in our multifamily real estate practice, we were able to execute on two large portfolio transactions at an expedited pace to close the 4th quarter.” Commented Mike Davis, President of Rhodes Risk Advisors. “These placements were a testament to our industry specific approach and team commitment to hard work, evidenced throughout all of our success in 2017.”
Highlights from the Fourth Quarter of 2017 Include:
Multifamily
Following a quarter that saw volatility in the multifamily insurance marketplace, the Rhodes multifamily team saw numerous successes at the close of 2017. Due to specific program access and expertise, Rhodes utilized portfolio based leverage to create expanded coverage at reduced costs for multiple client acquisitions.One highlight was the insurance placement for a major portfolio acquisition by a current client with a large institutional partner. This was a $1B+ asset transaction consisting of over 8,000 units of workforce housing across multiple regions of the country.Additionally, Rhodes placed all lines of coverage for $250MM portfolio with over 3,200 units of multifamily properties in NC, IN, CT, and TN. This created a more streamlined insurance program and provided significant cost savings.
Film & Entertainment
Professional and Liability coverage was placed for an Atlanta based production company. This firm produces scripted content including film and television shows, as well as operates as a third-party production company for major networks and film and television production entities. Rhodes also placed the entertainment production package insurance for a Georgia filmed horror / thriller movie.
Hospitality
Rhodes secured all lines of coverage for a new brew pub in Duluth, GA. Due to specific knowledge regarding brewing and restaurant operations, as well as access to tailored programs, the client was guided through all phases of establishing an insurance program for their new location.
Real Estate / Construction
Rhodes saw continued momentum due to their expertise in the real estate and construction space. Insurance was placed on a portfolio of historic office and retail properties in Asheville, NC, Jacksonville, FL, and Louisville, KY. The real estate team has worked extensively with the nuances of historic properties, and was able to solidify insurance placements in a seamless fashion during closing.Additionally, Rhodes insured the development of a mixed-use real estate project that included restaurant, office, and special events space. Permanent insurance was secured, and marked the completion of risk management guidance from the constructions phase to completion of the project.

Rhodes was honored to be selected to the Bulldog 100 list of fastest growing University of Georgia led companies, with a ranking of 62nd.
